Making sure everyone is armed with knowledge of the law.
our own personal mission
Locally, Suraj Vyas periodically hosts small free legal informational sessions for up to 10 attendees. These sessions tend to be shaped upon the attendees and what sorts of questions they bring to that particular session. Sessions were previously held exclusively in person, but are now also sometimes held through Google Hangouts. Recently, these sessions have seen growing attendance by female minorities. Suraj primarily provides information on contracts. How to read them, how to understand them, and how to ensure that someone with legal finesse is not pulling the wool over the eyes of those less armed with legal knowledge. With the trend of recent sessions, Suraj has also began teaching various concepts of Maryland family law and criminal law as requested by attendees. Although all of the information taught is readily available online or in textbooks through statutes and case law, Suraj believes he can teach the material in an easy to digest manner without having to resort to multiple different websites to clear up one misconception.
Local in-person sessions are not scheduled consistently, but in order to stay up to date with any information sent out about our next session, please subscribe to our blog.
Internationally, Suraj spends every trip to India holding at least one free session in partnership with local universities or businesses to educate people about contract law and the changing tides of international law. Recent trends for these sessions have seen the rise of ADR and as such, Suraj plans to focus future sessions on the role of arbitration and mediation in the courts system of India. Being an engineer, Suraj makes sure he spends time with local construction firms to provide useful knowledge about how they should go about entering into and negotiating contracts.
Suraj is currently looking into continuing international sessions through the use of Google Hangouts and Meet. International in-person sessions are not scheduled consistently, but in order to stay up to date with any information sent out about our next session, please subscribe to our blog.
