Immigration Law Experience

Live the American dream and reunite with your loved ones.

Suraj Vyas is a certified attorney with the Executive Office for Immigration Review and has experience working with clients from the UK and India. Many attorneys hold themselves out to be immigration attorneys, but can’t actually practice in front of the immigration courts so it’s important to make sure your attorney is certified before hiring. Suraj has handled a number of family immigration visa matters including FB1, FB2, FB3, FB4, F, and K Visas. Suraj has also advised on possible J, H1B, H2B, O, and P visas. Additionally, he can assist with lawfully permanent resident status and becoming a Green Card holder. Let him help you reunite with your spouse, parents, children, siblings, or fiancé. Coming from a family of engineers and as someone whose parents immigrated to the United States a mere year before he was born, Suraj knows the importance of making sure you have the evidence you need to show you belong here.

GREEN CARD

A U.S. green card, also known as a Permanent Resident Card, allows the holder to live and work permanently in the United States. It is evidence of the holder's legal permanent resident status in the United States. Green card holders are also able to travel outside the United States and re-enter, as long as they do not stay outside of the U.S. for too long. Additionally, green card holders may be eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship after a certain period of time. You may qualify through a family member, your employer, or one of the special categories that fall outside of those two. Mr. Vyas has experience educating possible applicants and securing their green cards. After reviewing your situation and assessing whether you meet the eligibility requirements for a legal permanent residency including any possible sponsorship issues that may arise, Mr. Vyas will be able to come up with a solid plan and put the plan into action to make sure you are given a fair chance at getting your green card from application filing to the biometrics appointment to your interview to your hopeful approval when we get your green card in the mail. Keep in mind that although there are a number of documents that Mr. Vyas will need to complete this process, he will always ensure you are provided with detailed checklists and task lists so that nothing falls through the cracks. Not every case is the same so it is important to follow specific legal advice provided to you by Mr. Vyas. You will have tailored advice related to your specific visa regardless of whether it is family-based from an immediate relative like a spouse, parent, or child U.S. citizen or an employment-based visa or anything in between.

Extraordinary Ability Visa

The U.S. offers nonimmigrant visas for people who have extraordinary ability in the arts, sciences, business, education, or athletics, or has a proven record of extraordinary achievement in the television or motion picture industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for these achievements (O-1 Visa). O-2 visas may be granted to those who are an assistant of an O-1 Visa and the spouse or child and O-1 or O-2 visa holder may also qualify for an O-3 visa.

divorce proceedings

When a couple decides to divorce and one or both of the spouses are not citizens, it is crucial to examine how a divorce may affect one or both of their immigration statuses. It is an extremely delicate situation to be in and one small misstep can lead to deportation. Mr. Vyas has experience handling divorce proceedings where an immigration issue is at stake. Need help with an I-864 Affidavit of Support issue that’s happening in the midst of a divorce? Mr. Vyas can help. Need help knowing whether deportation should be a concern in the middle of a divorce? Mr. Vyas can advise.

citizenship applications

Mr. Vyas can prepare, file, guide, and tutor you through your citizenship application. The N-400 (Application for Naturalization) is the form that you need to file in order to become a US citizen. It is one of the longest and most complex USCIS forms. It is important to make sure there are no errors when filing this form as it could lead to a substantial delay in your processing times or an outright denial of citizenship. Many people are also intimidated by the dreaded “Citizenship Test,” but Mr. Vyas will put your mind at ease and make sure you have the resources you need to ace the test. Get in touch if you’re ready to stop looking over your shoulder in fear of being deported or if you’re just tired of filling out Green Card renewal forms. Mr. Vyas will be able to guide you in instances of criminal history as well to ensure your citizenship application has a stronger chance of succeeding.
